New Year Party

This winter holiday left the spirit of goodness and  fairy-tales  in the memorable moments of our  childhood . So, the party, we prepared  this year had this feeling too. There were presented all kinds of tairy-tales creatures on it: the evil witches and policemen, the Father Frost and the other unusual characters. The were the special guests too: Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson and Mrs Freimut. One could also visit the big ukrainian family  on the New Year Eve and got joyment with their funny New Year adventures.

Everyone the children and the guests of the party got a lot of positive emotions.

And I want to wish you to have more such positive moments in your life in this New coming Year!

Thanksgiving

This american holiday has a special spirit. And we, as a teachers, should bring it to our children. Here is one more idea, you can spend it in unusual way. 

This time I decided to organize my party  in the way of hunting after the turkey. This game also had the elements of discovering the history and traditions of this holiday. And, of course, no one turkey was hurt during our hunting. At the end of the game our Prey got the freedom, sayed  its thanks and gave the hunters some small sweet presents.

The Day of ukrainian language and writing

This holiday we celebrate every year on the 9th of November. Students of the 7-9th  forms took part at the school holiday "While  T. Shevchenko is, there is Ukraine... " All the partisipants learned more about our glorious country, about Kirilo and Myphodiy (the creators of our alphabet), revised some facts from  the history of our state language. After this event the children of our school also took part at the all-ukrainian dictation of national unity.

Halloween

Dear teachers, the day of Halloween is coming, and we all think how to prepare some parties for our children. And every of us think about some special holiday, of course. I know that you like some of my ideas, so I decided to share one with you. 

I propose you to spend this after classes activity in the way of imaginary travelling. Create your own Haunted house, with not scared but funny creatures, and go on. You know what is "Storytelling", so try to create your own story with some interesting tasks and riddles, where your children could help every creature and get joyment from this work. Here what  I have done this time. 

Try to prepare this "story-game" and be ready to find the light in the eyes of your children. And have a happy Halloween, of course!

Journey to the Holly Places.

The teachers and the staff of our school during the autumn holidays visited the tract of Gurby, where we honoured the memory of the fallen heroes-defenders of Ukraine in the Pantheon of Glory, prayed at the Holy Trinity Monastery of Dermans, visited the source of St. Nicholas in the village of Gilche.

Seminar for English teachers

 We have visited the informative seminar today in Dubno. The teachers of our district could deepen their experience in developing Critical Thinking and practice the use of Storytelling techniques.

 Thanks for an interesting and useful experience. We promise to use all these aproaches in our work.

The School English Olympiad

Today the School stage of All-Ukrainian Olympiad in English was held. The pupils of grades 8-9 took part in it.

 We wish all participants success and achieve only good results!

The Day of the Defender of Ukraine

  Festive competitions were prepared by girls 8-9 classes for the whole male half of the school team. Before the Day of the Defender of Ukraine, they presented them a gift - dance, and also organized competitions, where the two teams determined the primacy in agility and strength.

All participants of the competition received their awards, and the winners - the sweet prizes.

Teacher's Day

  On Friday, before the Teacher's Day, the students of our school warmly welcomed their teachers with a professional holiday. The pupils from the early morning met all the education workers at the school hall, as they prepared a surprise-greetings. Today at school also there was a day of pupils' self-government.  

 As the greating for all teachers, children also prepared a concert. The atmosphere of the holiday was also underline by the exhibition of autumn bouquets.

The Feast in Dubno

Today, the teachers and pupils of our school had a great opportunity to take part in a feast full of national habits and traditions. Dubno was overcrouded with people in national costumes, who want to show their love and belonging to the villiges they were born, and their pride of some pecularities and special traditions they have there. 

Everyone enjoyed the colourful procession that took place in the centre of the town, and could  go on folk fair, and listen the folk songs of singers who came from every part of our district.

The First School Ring

  The first day at school is always a great event to remember during 8 school years. And for every graduates it is realy sad to understand that this school year will be the last. So I can say about my 9 formers. Today they were happy and sad at the same time.

 

I hope this new school year will help them to understand their calling and bring them only positive events and gifts.
  And of course, the first present they, (with all our pupils) have received - its a new school bus.

And I want to wish everyone: teachers, children and their parents, may this new school year will be full of wanders and positive changes for you.

The Day of Friendship

  So, the time to say goodbye in our summer language camp comes. Well, we had a lot of  entertainments. And all our awards are the results of good work. We all became more friendly here. That's why, as honest pirates, we divide the treasures as it must be. We also watched presentation with the most interesting moments of our camp life. All have fun. 

 

We have not forgotten about future plans for the summer. We presented all the best ideas in a book-project, and each camper solemnly swore to do all of them. And in September we decided to check the results. And as good pirates, we did not leave our treasure chest empty, and filled it with new, more expensive treasures - with our impressions and wishes. Well, that's all.

  But the last day of the camp does not mean the end to all the entertainments, because the summer only begins and time for fun and games is just beginning. So we wish you all to have a good summer!

Quest "Treasure Island"

Have you ever dreamed about visiting the unknown lands and experiencing a lot of adventures?

  Participants of our language camp "Brights" had such opportunity today. We with two teams went in a trip with the aim to find the treasure. At first, according to the laws of pirates, all participants were tested to get into the teams. And the adventures began. 

We went through the desert and dreamed about drinks and food. Then we were wandering in the jungle. All campers had to use their geographical knowledge to get out of it. Then we had a little rest in the pub, and sang their own songs. 

 

 We crossed the cave with various monsters, and run away in Wild Forest from an unknown beast until the campers realized that it was a bear. And finally  we got to Treasure Island.

After all our adventures, we decided to describe them in the story book  and we prepared it page after page.

Time for Art

  What can yuou safely call creativity? And Art? What are the styles of it? What is a portrait of a creative person? Today, in our language camp, we answered all these questions and even more.

  The campers painted a picture of a famous painter according to instructions, learned a lot about his life and works, watched a presentation about art styles, played art games, and also made projects about their favorite styles of art.

  To summarize our work, we decided to organized  Art Picnic. The campers "made" their own masterpieces and enjoyed their art.

Hobbies and interests

What will you do in a cloudy and gloomy day? Can it be a great time for your hobby or something interesting? We decided to find out this today in the language camp "Brights". We started with a funny warm-up song.

Then two teams "Sporty people" and "Brights" competed with each other in the game "The time for  hobbies": children were watching videos about hobbies of British and answering quiz questions, solving crossword puzzles, working with texts about unusual hobbies, guessing interests, etc. . The team "Sporty people" won the game. Congratulations!

  At the end of the day, we made projects to the topic and organized "Show of talants", where everyone who wanted present his or her achievements in the field of his interests. Children also chose the "most talented" camper.

Sports Day

Today in our language camp, we decided to check how sporty we are. We started with a fun song and video: "What kind of sport is this?"

  Then two teams competed among themselves in the game: "Who knows the sports better?": watching videos about British sports, guessing riddles, dividing games and sports by categories, and so on. The team "Fans" won.

  After making projects on the topic, we decided to continue the fun and competed in our own sports. Children  invented and explained the rules of their games by themselves. It was hard to find the winner to the end of all competitions, but the team "Winners" at last won. Our Congratulations!

The Day of Clever Man

   Interesting things in our language camp are not over. Today, the most entertaining game show "The Smartest" was organized for all participants. The competition lasted for 3 rounds. In the first one took part all those who are interested. The second round - 6 participants who chose the most interesting topics. At the end we had three brightest pupils.

 The last competition was to answer the questions about the most interesting English language facts. The winner of the game was Lisun Julia. Our congratulations!

 After the game  the children produced projects about their favorite school subjects.

Funny English Day

 Who among us does not like to have fun? Today at our school  was the Funny English Day. Was it difficult? All the children in our language camp did not even pay attention to it, because fun is not waiting.

The Participants of the language camp performed with fun curiosity and painted illustrations to the Limericks in teams. Children also watched videos on how to understand specific English jokes.

  And at the end of the day for the project work, we chose and played (with making the masks of  characters) a Ukrainian humorous song translated into English. It was really funny!

Science Day

  This day we devoted to curiosities from the field of scientific experiments. Can the process of learning be interesting? Participants of our language camp will  say: "Yes!".

The campers were having fun today by conducting and commenting in all the experiments (in English of course): physical; biological; and playing Maths games. They were sometimes just a little surprised by them, and sometimes more interested in it.

Children also produced projects to the topic.

We are all different

  On this day participants of  language camp traditionally started with an active workout. After having fun children started with language games. Campers shared stories with each other about their favorites, learned interesting things about people of different nations, and  described their appearance and traits of character . They also told about the features of the Ukrainians. We summarized the work by the conclusion that although we all, people of the planet Earth, are different, but we all - equal. 

At the end  the children made projects about their favorite things and presented to all participants of the camp.

Summer English camp. Opening Party.

  Today in our school started to work a summer language camp «Brights". We had Opening Party where children shared with the guests about their expectations of the camp, told his troops and the motto adopted the rules of the camp and made a solemn oath's of English language campers.

   The party was funny and bright.  At the end of it children had fun, played language games and produced projects in groups.

The Last Jingle of the School Bell

  Today in our school we had happy and sad event at that time. Happy because the time for summer holidays is near here. All children wait for it without exceptions. Sad, because it is the last day of 9 formers  in our school. Their studying is over.

A lot of nice words were said for them in this day. Their first teacher, class teacher, the headmaster of the school, guests and others wish 9th formers good luck on their future life way.

  We can add only - may all good wishes for you come true!

The Day of Embroidered Shirt

  The teachers and pupils of our school decided to show their love for our country and traditions.

  The Day of Embroidered Shirt we celebrate in our country every year in the second Thursday of May. And from old times our people, ukrainians, believed that embroidered shirt save a person from bad and evil things. 

 So, it's very pleasant that not only adalts, but the small children keep our traditions.

Courses for teachers of English

This week from 14th to 16th of May we had a great opportunity to show our knowledges and to find some new methods of work.

   All the things we've learnt will help us in teaching the first formers of a New Ukrainian School. It was a hard work but interesting and helpful for every teacher of NUS. We realy enjoy it.
  I want to say "Thank you!" to our trainers from all of us.

The puppet-theatre.

  Today the was a great show for small children in our school. Not the professional actors prepared it. These were our pupils.

  With help of the teachers they organized a theatre performance. Pupils used funny pupet dolls. 

  The play was great. Every child aplosed the young actors. Well done!

William Shakespeare

What do you know about the Great Dramatist? How much do you know about his life and works? What unusual facts do you know about him? How much words he introduse in English language during his life?  

  All this and even more could learn the pupils of 8-9th forms.

 We watched presentations about his life and short videos to his best tragedies. Pupils read their favourite sonnets of W. Shakespeare. And the little contest showed the smartest pupil in this sphere.

  Everybody enjoyed the party and spent time with pleasure.

Preparing for Easter.

  The pupils of our school decided to prepare for Easter. They with help of the teachers organized the General Cleaning. We have cleaned the territory of our school yard.

Also our pupils of school self-management have cleaned the tomb of unknown soldier in the village Zlinest, the tomb of lieutenant Kuchenkov in the village Hirnyky and the territory near the monument in the centre of villige Zdovbitsia.

The Winners of the English Week

  The Week of English has finished. And the great resalts were showed by our pupils. We desided to show them to whole school. The winners of the competitions got their awards and prizes. 

  Well done and keep this high level! Your best results are the honour of our school.

"The GREENest"

   The day before we decide to devote our Thursday to St. Patrick's Day . 

   The students of 6-7 forms were able to demonstrate their knowledge of the traditions of this holiday, the life of the saint, the history and culture of Nothern Ireland. 

   Our game was called "The GREENest"

   Three finalists fought for the prize, and to the end of the competition nobody knew who get the win.

So, we decided that two winners get their prizes.
